Hello I was a pupil from1998 - 2005.
I really enjoyed my time in primary ,had lots of good teachers and really good friends.
I miss the school and everything in it because when I think it takes me right back to my younger childhood. Good and not so good memories. The school did quite a lot for me and I appreciate it a lot. so thankyou.

I still dream of being at Stenhouse School. I was there from 1969 to 1974 (I think that's right).
I see that many of the people leaving messages now live overseas. Me too. I am in Seattle, Washington.
I still remember some people and teachers. I also remember the minister who used to come once a week from the local church, St. Aidans. I'd love to see any photos from that time or hear from old classmates.

I should have mentioned that my twin brother George was in the same class as me as were Johnny & Jimmy Hunter, another set of twins). Poor Miss Hunter had her hands full. I'm sure anyone else in my class would enjoy this

It's a photo taken in the room where we did country dancing. You'll see all the names of my class mates and their photo. The beanbag on top of the door molding brings back memories.

I attended Stenhouse from 1954 until 1961.
I have such fond memories of the school. Miss Hunter was my teacher and Mr. Moffat was the headmaster. I was dux one year and very proud.
You can have a wee giggle if you look at the site www.scotchproductions.com/ironvirgin.html This was a glam-rock band I played in. You might also enjoy a few of my poems at www.scottish-poet.com
I'm now living in Santa Barbara, California.

Visiting Scotland last year, I was amazed to see how beautiful the school looks today. It actually looked better than it did back in the 60's !

I was a pupil at Srenhouse from 1932 to 1937 when I left to go to Boroughmuir. The headmaster was Mr Cowe and the jannie was Mr Dickson. I also recall Miss Graham who set me on the right path educationally.

I posted a note on 19 February 2007 and was very pleasantly surprised to hear from David Quinn who moved to Canada in 1960s. He will be in Edinburgh in Spring 2008 and we plan to meet up. I have been involved in the Lothian Birth Cohort Study and as a result, 6 classmates and I (who left in 1948) met up in November. We plan to have a further meeting in Spring and would love if any other classmates could attend. Please get in touch.

I attended Stenhouse from 1969 - 1972 lots of happy memories of playing in the covered area of the playground when it was wet. I too remember Miss Hunter as being stern but fair. I also remember Mr McAlpine the headmaster who not only taught my elder sister Jane, but also my dad!

I attended Stenhouse School 1941-1948 with my twin brother Malcolm, and have fond memories of Stenhouse, two of our teachers were Miss McCairn and Mr. Evans.
I kept it touch with Miss McCairn until her Death.

Stenhouse gave me the most wonderful start to life - I attended from 1951-1958 when we emigrated to Australia. I had a terrific 30-year career as a shopping centre manager which took me all around Australia and to Asia. I remember my last teacher, Mr Boucher who used to be teased about his scooter, but he was very patient and a good teacher. We had a great music programme then and I also remember the annual school prize day held out on the lawn area which has now been reduced to include a garden. I wish I had some of the books I was awarded as Dux. I went on a flying visit in October 2006, took a few photos and was amazed at the emotion I felt to be in my old school grounds again. I wish for all current Stenhouse Primary students the well-rounded education I received and the encouragement to never stop being inquisitive and learning. Good luck to all.

Nice to see the school doing so well. I never attended but my nephew did, during the 90s. When I visited, I always found the school to be a warm, inviting place.

Good luck in the future.

I worked in Stenhouse Primary from January 1993 till September 2005 when I retired.
I met a lot of good friends and colleagues there. It is nice to still be able to go in and see every one.

I was at stenhouse school in 1950-60. A great school and still is, remembering
playing for the school football team, Mr Martin who became the headmaster
and Mr Dickson who was the janitor with the handle bar moustache , left Stenhouse
and went to Pentlands. Good Luck 'Steny'.

I was at Stenhouse from 1942 to 1948. My teachers were Miss Robertson, Miss Cormack, Miss McNaughton and the Head was Mr Cowe. I am taking part in the 1936 Lothian Birth Cohort Study and have recently sat the same exam I sat in 1947 (Moray House Test). I would love to find any school photos of when I was at Stenhouse and would also like to visit.

I was a pupil from 1982 to1989. I remember this school giving me such a great set up in life. I did well at sports
The teachers I remember the most are Mrs Bailey, Mrs Hogg, Mr Davidson, Mrs Shaw & Mrs Dalgleish.
I am now a Microsoft IT Professional, which I enjoy. That's one thing I would advise any pupils wondering what career to take. I would advise progressing in a career that you will enjoy.
